Important pair of Revolutionary War Period pistols by William Whetcroft of Baltimore and Annapolis. William Whetcroft arrived from Cork, Ireland in Annapolis in 1766. He later opened a shop in 1767 in Baltimore while retaining a shop in Annapolis.

PRESENTATION BRASS MARINE LANTERN CIRCA 1850
This lantern could be either marine or railroad presentation. The glass fixed globe is free blown with applied glass band at the top. The globe is copper wheel cut with the initials “J. W. M.” with a surrounding leaf pattern at the base.

This is a nice example of a double branch pattern guard English Hanger. The sword is 30 ¼ inches overall with a 25 inch blade. The blade has the running fox and the inspector’s mark “Crown 2” stamp.

This hanger is from the 1740-1760 period when King Frederick came into power in 1740. The brass hilt is cast in two pieces and the blade has engraved on either side “FR & Crown”.
