17TH CENTURY EUROPEAN CAVALRY SWORD
This broad sword or cavalry sword is 40 ½ inches overall with a 35 ½ inch blade and 1 5/8 inches wide at the ricasso. The sword hilt is brass constructed of three pieces and has the head of a dragon or gargoyle.

AMERICAN HEAVY DRAGOON SABER, MODEL 1840
This heavy cavalry sword won the name of “Old Wristbreaker” from the men that used it. It was the regulation of 1840 for the US Dragoons. The sword was popular all through the Civil War and this one was contracted by Sheble & Fisher, Philadelphia.

This saber was adapted in 1840 from the French pattern for the light artillery. It was manufactured by Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee, Mass. The sword has a single-edged curved blade.

Navy or artillery officer’s sword with solid counter-guard and helmet pommel. This sword fits the regulation of either. This sword came from a naval collector and this was his representative sword for the 1830-1840 period.

AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR HORSEMAN SABER
This Revolutionary War Horseman Saber has a very heavy cast brass hilt over 1/8 inch thick. The guard has four slots as well as a triangle slot in the knuckle bow which terminates into a wide brass ferrule below the pommel. The grip is maple with an incised spiral.

AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR HORSEMAN SABER – CA 1775-1783
This sword conforms closely in construction to the “Potter” swords of the American Revolution. Refer to “Swords and Blades of the American Revolution” by George Newmann, pg 166 & 167. The sword is brass or bronze hilted with a spiral carved wooden grip with the original wire wrap.
