Description
13th-17th Century Medievil Edged Sword. This edged weapon is often referred to as a "glaive". The head is very large measuring 21 1/4 inches long and approx. 8 inches wide. They were usually mounted on a shaft of 5-6 ft and were usually weilded with two hands on horseback. This example has incised and punched decoration and has two maker's marks stamped on the top of the blade. The face of the blade has been cleaned and the back has a dark overall brown-rust patina. This is hand-forged with a rolled and forged socket. Probably Swedish or northern Europe.
