Description
This Revolutionary War Horseman Saber has a very heavy cast brass hilt over 1/8 inch thick. The guard has four slots as well as a triangle slot in the knuckle bow which terminates into a wide brass ferrule below the pommel. The grip is maple with an incised spiral. The grip was never covered. The 33 inch blade, 1 ½ inch wide is the popular three fuller blade used on many of the horseman sabers. The sword measures 39 inches overall.
The sword is in overall excellent condition with minor surface discoloration and a few surface rust spots at the tip. The brass has a nice old patina.
