Description
This mirror is constructed of mahogany veneer and gilded wood. It is English or American, circa 1760. It measures 36 inches x 18 inches. The architectural pediment is surmounted by gold guilt scrolls and is topped with a gold guilt shell cartouche. The tympanum consists of open carved fretwork with incised decoration. For similar examples, refer to number 326 of "The Mirror Book" by Herbert F. Schiffer. However, this may be a unique mirror as we have not seen another like it. The mirror is in excellent condition.
